Deep As Bones was formed in Arizona State Prison Complex, Florence in 2016. All three writers on the album were in the same prison yard together. Rodney Scott Pieres, John Fabricius and Walter Willis wrote 10 songs together in the prison band room. Upon release, the three of them went into the studio with producer Jay Kereny (Linkin Park) to start recording at Studio 47 on Central. Jay introduced them to then-Red drummer, Dan Johnson who played on the record. They finished recording at TallCat Studios in Phoenix and completed recording in 2020. Ralph Patlan (Megadeth) completed the process by mixing and mastering the record.
“We want to inspire the world with our heavy, well-written and thoughtful music, focusing on the broken and addicted to try and bring some hope - and headbanging!”, states frontman, Rodney Scott Pieres.
